About us
We are a housing and construction cooperative founded on 22 September 2017 in Portumao, and we perform a social function, which is to help solve the housing problem in Portugal, and more precisely in the Algarve region.
Today, as yesterday, we are fulfilling the principles and goals that we set for ourselves - to build and provide our members with high-quality and affordable housing.
In 2021 we built the first buildings. And since then, despite the difficulties that the cooperative movement had to go through and the economic crisis that the country is currently facing, we have continued to build comfortable homes. High–quality housing is our great heritage, which we are proud of.
We are not just building. The maintenance of buildings has been and remains our concern, which is why we also manage condominiums.
We are part of a socially significant cooperative movement, along with Fenache (National Federation of Economic Housing Cooperatives) and unions UCHA, GAIACOOP, AREIASUCHA and Cidade Cooperativa da Prelada.
Aware of today's challenges, our cooperative is ready to confront them and lay the foundations for a better future, finding new solutions to meet the needs of the population, especially young people and the elderly.
As for cooperative development, we actively participate in all forums and are ready to cooperate with local authorities in solving housing problems in the cities of the Algarve region.
History
The housing and construction cooperative was founded on 22 September 2017 - the day when the first act was performed in the notary office of the Portimao. The first meeting was held in the parish hall of the church Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição.
For the first few months, the headquarters was located on street Rua Baran de Sosme, then moved to street Rua de Santa Catarina, and then, on 10 October 2022, it moved to its own premises on street Alfarrobeira, where all administrative services work and General Meetings are held today.
The history and success of our cooperative are written by the work done, will, knowledge and competence of people.
In 2022 our housing and construction cooperative celebrated its fifth anniversary. Throughout this time, especially in the early years, there were many difficulties at various levels. Nevertheless, we knew how to overcome them, and we are proud of the work we have done, the values we cultivate, and above all, great determination and hope for the future.
